Mustard Design Have produced a 3D Product Design concept to fill a real requirement in the Nations leading electrical retailer Curry’s Plc. Working together with Mustard Designs Sister Company Pure Technologies Ltd, Mustard’s creative team has designed and developed a complete solution for the busy retail shopper experience.
The ongoing project worth £2 million has been to encourage customers to seek out information using our in-house touch screen technology. The finer elements of the project remains confidential until any launch yet essentially the digital POS enables large retailers to save costs on expensive training by having all current product information onscreen for both shoppers and staff to easily access via a touch screen menu. The customer selects there preferred product and is issued with a (credit card sized) reward card with their details captured in a unique 10 digit barcode/number. The card carry’s a return to store/buy online incentive scheme as well as data capturing shopper’s details during an onscreen retail enquiry. The retailer can then target the specific shopper with follow-up email campaigns/direct mail. Valuable shopper trends and data are captured and peripheral services such as after sales guarantees/credit/finance can be targeted at the captive buyer to increase revenue further in a competitive marketplace.
US research has shown that this type of product information in-store has hugely increased as the’savvy’ buyer will check out the real products in store prior to surfing for cheaper prices online.
This type of data capture together with online ‘reward/loyalty’ schemes captures both sides of the buyers psyche as well as providing essential product knowledge to sales staff instantly.
