One of the largest web video sites in the world has announced that they are due to launch a new web video player for its site. According to comScore, the website Dailymotion receives 66 million users globally every month, thanks to its interactive website design.
This latest launch is part of a series of website advancements which are designed to offer a superior video entertainment experience for users, content partners and advertisers. The new video player will support over 30 million video views a day and the programme has been completely rewritten to be less resource intensive for faster loading and playing. The revamp has made for larger buttons, improved headers and better controls making it easier for web video sharing.
‘Hotspot’ is a new feature which leads the player’s improved sharing capabilities, meaning users can specify an exact point within the video for play to start when you are sending a link to someone via email or social networks.
It’s good news for marketers too, as they will see new branding opportunities by putting the advertising content at the centre of the user experience. The player will allow more targeted ads in and outside the website.
